Molas Lake Park & Campground Ammenities
Molas Lake Park & Campground is located between mile markers 65 & 66 on U.S. Highway 550, approximately 5 miles (10 minutes drive) south of Silverton in San Juan County, Colorado.
ONSITE CAMPING & DAY USE AMMENITIES:
- 25-acre mountain lake stocked with catchable Rainbow trout within a 137-acre alpine park and campground.
- Just 5 miles (10 minutes drive) to the Town of Silverton, CO.
- Non-motorized hand-launched boating and paddling. Rentals available on-site.
- Convenient ultra-clean vault-style toliets for camping and day users.
- Hot showers ($5 per use/token).
- Onsite store selling basic camping and fishing provisions, firewood, watercraft rentals (kayaks, SUPs, row boats), and sovenirs.
- Four (4) day use areas are available free of charge, first-come, first-serve. Each area has a BBQ grill and picnic table.
- 62 campsites, each with flat tent pads, parking areas, BBQ grills and picnic tables. Site types available can accommodate a range of camping experiences from ultra-large RVs and primitive walk-in tents.
- Potable water (by the Molas Lake Office and Store).
- Fish cleaning station (by the Molas Lake Office and Store).
- Leashed pets welcome.
- Free fishing (valid Colorado fishing license required).
- Hiking and biking trails directly from Molas Lake Park and Campground, including Molas system trails and the Colorado Trail.
- Trails connect to Colorado's largest wilderness: Weminuche Wilderness and the San Juan National Forest.

Please note:
There are no on-site water or electricity hookups available. There is potable water located next to the office that you can use to fill up your water containers. RVs can fill up to 30 gallons of potable water, but no more. Dump stations are available within the Town of Silverton, just 5 miles (10 minutes drive) away. The fee is typically around $10. There is no internet connectivity and limited cell service within the campground. Electrical outlets are available in the shower facility but not the vault-style toliets. Swimming, drones, and ATVs/OHVs are not allowed at Molas Lake.
